7th Session of Faculty Study Circle
7th session of Faculty Study Circle was conducted on 24 August 2016.The topic was "GST and its Impact on Business".The audience were final year M.Com students, Faculty Members of Commerce and Management and Faculties of other Colleges .
Faculty Development Workshop on "Creative Teaching Techniques"
One day Faculty Develoment Workshop was organized on 30 June 2016.The Guest speaker of the ocassion was Ms Bhagyalakshmi, Resource Person, ACT(Academy of Creative Teaching), Bangalore
6th session of Faculty Study Circle on "Recent Trends and Changes in Banking"
The 6th and the last FDP session of the year 2015-16 was conducted on 16th March 2016 .The session was delivered by Mr. Lakshmeesha,former General Manager,Independent Director,SBM.
5th session of Faculty Study Circle on 17th February 2016
The 5th FDP session was conducted on the topic "Management thought in Ancient india".This was delivered by Mr. B.R. Prabhakar,former General Manager,HAL and Cost Management Consultant.

4th Session of Faculty Study Circle on "Productivity Enhancement through LEAN" was held on 22 January 2016 .The Resource Person of the event was Sri A.C.N. Murthy,Promoting & Managing Partner,Samriddhi Biz solutions .
FDP on “Emerging trends in HR” on 23rd September 2015
The 3rd Faculty study circle program was held on 23rd September 2015 @2pm. The resource person for the program was Mr.Jagadish Shekhar Naik, country head, Scania Commercial Vehicles India Pvt.ltd. .The topic for the program was “Emerging trends in HR”.The discussion included the key HR challenges in today’s organizations,HRIS,Value adding and non-value adding activities in HR,Volatility,Uncertainity,Ambiguity and complexity in today’s HRM and so on. The speaker also answered the questions of the audience quoting live examples from industries.
FDP on Usage of ICT as tool for Teaching Pedagogy on 31 August 2015
Faculty development program on ‘Usage of Information and communication technology as a tool for teaching pedagogy’ was held on 31.08.2015 from 2pm-5pm for the faculty members of RV institutions. The resource person for the program was Dr.S Srikantha swamy, Former additional director, Centre for Research, Christ University. Faculties from NMKRV PU College, SSMRV PU College, SSMRV Degree College, Hombegowda College, and Govt.college Anekal participated in the program.
The highlights of the FDP were-Tips for effective teaching, Role of teachers, why technology in education? , Objectives of ICT, Using ICT tools, search engines and so on. Presentation was followed by discussion on queries of the audience.
Training of Faculty members on use of KINCAD software by Skyries Technologies on 27th August 2015
A FDP was conducted by Skyries Technologies on 27th August 2015 for training the faculty members about how to use tablet for implementing the College Management Software KINCAD in the college . The training was given by Ms. Akshatha and Mr. Shivakumar of Skyries Technologies. They briefed about how to use tab for attendence , for sending SMS to parents /teachers /students ,lesson plans , time table adjustment, task management, video interaction etc. Each faculty member were given a separate ID through which they can undertake the assigned work
FDP on “Issues in Today’s Indian Economy – Glimpses of behavioural finance”
The second Faculty Study Circle was held on 26 August 2015 from 2-5 PM in two sessions
First Session : "Issues in Today’s Indian Economy; A Glimpse of behavioral Finance” handled by Smt. Hema Srinivasan,Admin Officer of an Insurance Company. The discussion covered Behavioural Finance ,Micro-Finance etc. followed by videos on Buzz India Movement and Gramin Koota .
Second Session : “Portfolio Management” by Dr Ravindra,Adarsha College . The discussion covered Fundamental and Technical analysis of an investment,Criteria for investment,Skill development activities etc.
About 40-faculty members from different colleges participated in the programme.
Inaguration of Faculty Study Circle on 22 July 2015
As an initiative for knowledge sharing and updating the faculty with new information in the subjects of Commerce and Management "Faculty Study Circle" was Inagurated on 22.7.2015 .
The chief guest of the ocassion was CS H.M.Dattatri, Chairman, Institute of Company Secretaries of India, presided by Sri Pathi R.Raghunath, Chairman, Governing Council,SSMRV in the presence of Principal, Dr.S.Anil Kumar,Director, Major V.Srinivas Murthy and Prof. R. Aswathnarayana, President, BUTCCM.
The resource person of the technical session was Mr.Anup Vijay Kulkarni, Practicing Company Secretary and Associate Member of ICSI. He spoke on the “Changes in Companies Act, 2013” with industry examples.
It was decided that every month 4th Wednesday, there will be a study circle meeting in which different topics will be discussed by inviting industrial and academic experts. Faculties from other colleges as well as from our college participated in the program.
Faculty Development Program in association with IPOMO.
Faculty Development program was conducted on 10th September 2014, in association with ipomo, to all the faculty of the college, on use of Technology in tracking the progress of students online, which includes attendance, exam scores, feedback of students and parents, access of college information etc. by a mobile application.
Faculty Development Program for the Newly Inducted Faculties to our college:
A Faculty Development Program was held , for the newly inducted teaching staff to our college by our senior In-house faculty members. Dr. Helen Cunha, Head, Department of Commerce and Dr. R.N Subba Rao, faculty, Department of Commerce .The speakers addressed the staff members about class room management and teaching pedagogy. They also informed them about the regulations to be followed by the college.
Workshop on "How to write a Research Paper"
The workshop was conducted on 20.07.2015 at 2:30 PM in AV room. The resource person for the workshop was Dr. Parameshwara Gupta, Co-ordinator, M.Com Department, APS College.Principal along with Faculty members attended the program
The workshop gave an idea and knowledge about how to design and prepare a research paper.The points which were stressed upon were : Identifying area of research ,Conduct gap analysis,Conduct review of literature , Abstract ,Objective of the study, Preparation of questionnaire, Research design , Sampling technique ,Collection of data, Analysis of data ,Calculation of ANOVA and Chi-square.
Preparation for NAAC
As preparation for the NAAC accreditation, HODs and Criterion heads presented their respective department’s information and criterion information. HODs of B.Com, BBA and BCA departments presented the NAAC required department information on 17.07.2015 in the presence of Principal Dr. S. Anil Kumar and Director and other staff members at college AV room.
The heads of criteria I-VII, Heads of Language departments also presented their information as per the guidelines of NAAC/IQAC committee, on 20.07.2015 and 21.07.2015 from 3:00 to 5:00 pm at AV room.
Orientation program for I year students for Actvity Centres and Clubs on 2-3July 2015
A two--day orientation program was organized on 2nd and 3rd of July 2015 from 1.15 PM-4.30 PM at the college auditorium for the 1st year degree students to introduce them to the various clubs and activity centres of the college. Convenors of all the clubs and committees briefly explained the new students about the various activities undertaken in previous years and also presented the list of activities for the present year. A pep talk by the convenors motivated new students to take membership in clubs and activity centres of the college.
FDP on ‘Need Analysis for Quality Enhancement’ on 24th march 2015
A FDP on the topic ‘Need Analysis for Quality Enhancement’ was conducted by Mr. Ajith Kaikeni , Buoyancee
27 teaching staff and 14 non-teaching staff participated .
An activity was conducted by formation of groups belonging to their respective departments
Group leaders were appointed to initiate the discussion
Topic of discussion was to list the Capacity, Capability, Compatibility, and Credibility factors in their respective fields
Each group after thorough deliberations on 4 C’s , presented their findings.
